The film, scripted by M.T. Vasudevan Nair and produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Gokulam Films, is based on a documentary called Malabar Manuel. The movie will be shot in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi.         Mammootty will be seen playing the lead role. Sarathkumar and Manoj K Vijayan play tough warriors. Kanika and Padmapriya play the female leads. Kanika is opposite Mammootty, while Padmapriya plays a guerrilla militant. In the movie, Padmapriya is an ordinary woman who has been trained to fire guns. She leads a group of people in a war against the British.
